Thankful for the decade....

What am I thankful for, for the decade?

I am thankful for
the kids it has given me
the blessings i have recieved
the smiles i was given
the awesome people i have met
the love that i have felt
the hugs after the tears
the wonderful organizations that help  many people
the USO
Soldier's Angel's
operation homefront
ASYMCA
OUR MILITARY
the strength GOD has helped me see I have
for the fact that despite the million fights hubs and I have, we are still together

I am so thankful for being alive, for being healthy enough to breathe on my own, to be able to witness a new decade, a new year, a new begining.

I am thankful that this decade is over, a decade that also brought me so much sadness, pain, hurt, and illness, i am thankful that I am where I am, good or bad, I am alive and I am thankful for that.

My Thankful Thursday post....

No, I didn't forget to do my Thankful Thursday post, yes I have a lot to be thankful for, but I just couldn't get the details I wanted for my post in time; like my feature on the USO Thankful Thursday post.

Onto me then... Lol...

For the 2009 year I am thankful for:
My family still being together
My children being as healthy as they can be for now ;)
My husb being able to stay in the military
Being able to find a home to rent that my kids can have an awesome time in the backyard
For being able to adopt Max Tour furry family member)
For ALL of the organizations that have helped and impacted our lives!

Mainly for God allowing us to make it! For the blessings he has put in our paths and for the battles he helped me win within myself, for hearing my desperate crying prayers when my babies were so sick and for giving me to constant push to keep going

I am SO thankful for the wonderful friends that I have met through blogland.

97th post and counting.... YAY....

So I saw my count and this makes it post number 97, Yayyy, I want to hit 100 by tonight, but the thing is that I don't want to make dumb posts, lol;
my last posts have to be meaningful, or at least make sense, lol.

So I guess this one would not fall into any of those categories unless i change the subject....
NOW!

So I woke up at 1pm today, lol.  EMBARASSING!!!!
but it felt sooo good, lol, now because of that I have a dull headache and I just feel crummy.  Too much sleep sucks! lol

On another note, hubs suggested we take the kids to see The Princess and the frog, since we have free tickets for the movies, yet for the last 3 hours I have been trying to brush hair and get shoes on  kids, IS EVERYONE RUNNING AS SLOW AS ME TODAY in this house?!?!?!

aaahhhhhhhh, lol.

I want to do a speed cleaning marathon and have the house clean by midnight,  nice to have dreams huh? lol lol

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve night if I dont speak to you again this year.

HUGS!!!!

Sears, and why I love it!

So Christmas eve the family and I rushed to sears to start our Christmas shopping, I know, I manage time well, lol.

Sears provided our Family with a chance to shop at their Chula Vista location recently.  So out of all the days in the year, we went to shop on Christmas eve.  The store was as full as can be expected, families everywhere leaving things looking like the elves has a race ;)
As I looked around, in every department they had at least 3 employees organizing the areas.  Yes, we had ALL of our kids with us, so you know that from the 4 year old to the 9 year old it was a game.  As I would approach an employee I would apologize for whatever mess my children made, hoping I would not get the evil eye; I didn't!
They were very nice, patient and helpful.  At 6pm the mall closed and what ever shoppers were left, flocked to Sears.  In the whole time we were there, every single employee was nice, and helpful.

After several hours in their store, I was able to get each of the kids a nice brand name pair of shoes and 1 complete outfit for exactly $200.00  Did I mention I have a lot of kids ;)

The sales are amazing, and  the discounts  helped a TON!

Today I went to Sears again because in the rush of trying to wrangle the kids on Christmas eve, I accidentally grabbed 2 right shoes for the 4 yr old, funny thing is that we didnt realize it until he was wearing his shoes in public and someone mentioned it.  EMBARASSING!! lol

I went straight to Sears and told them what happened, they found the missing shoe for me, and as a Thank you and apology I recieved a 20% off coupon for my next purchase.

Yes, I do love Sears, and I will continue to buy my children's clothing there, the prices along with the quality and even the name brands make it an amazing thing for my Family.

Thank you to Sears and ALL of the employees that made our trip possible.

Christmas Day at our house...

As you may have read on Christmas Eve, me n hubs went to sleep at 8am Christmas day, lol.

Kids start screaming for mommy like there was a fire!  so I jumped out of bed and stepped on the dog, then we both (the dog and I not the hubs, cause he was commatose, lol) ran towards the screaming and saw the kids standing in front of the tree.
"I dont see anything can I go back to sleep for a little bit?" I asked the kids,
I got a bunch of "No's" from everywhere.  "fine, go wake up Daddy guys!" lol, and they ran, giving me a chance to hunt for the camera and batteries.  I heard hubs begging for 15 more minutes of sleep, lol, HA!

After all of the presents and hugs, the fantastic 4 decided to go play a game of hungry dogs, lol

For dinner, Lily read daddy and mommy a card she made for us in school, she waited for 2 weeks to be able to read it to us, lol

For dessert, I made a cake, it was out ! yr anniversary since we renewed our vows, so I thought it would be nice ;)   Lily chose the sentence to write around the cake, she said "you are the best husband I can ever ask for"  She always is the sweet one ;)

And that folks, concluded our Christmas day ride, kids were asked if they had a good Christmas and they all said they had a GREAT one!

Christmas Eve...

here I am trying to catch up...

Christmas eve was spent waiting for Hubs (yes i call him hubs not husb, lol) to get off of work, he finally got home around 4pm.
We rushed out of the house to start our Christmas shopping.  We had some gift cards given to us as gifts, so we were able to get all of the kids a new pair of shoes.  I was so happy for that!!!!  Then the clock said 5pm, I called around and found out Target was going to be open until 6pm and Walmart until 8pm, so we rushed to Target, the kids voted that they each were going to pick one sibling this year to get gifts for their stocking.

We rushed through target  until they turned off the lights and asked everyone to come to the check out.  So next we rushed to and through walmart.  Husb and I were able to buy each other one thing, and it was so stressful trying to go through the store without catching the other one looking at something, then they started announcing that the store was closing and we had to go to check out, 10 minutes later the floor managers were walking down every aisle having the customers go to the front, it was funny.

After that store we rushed into the grocery store to get the last things we needed for our Christmas dinner and some for tonight, then off to the Bat-mobile!

First thing we did was give all of the kids a new set of pajamas, a new little tradition we will hopefull be able to continue.  Only the 4 little ones seem to participate in pictures, lol

Next I baked sugar cookies and set up the table with frosting and the cookies.  What came next was a sugar avalanche, lol...  on the BIG paper tray id one cookie from each of them for Santa, hhhmmm, I wonder who ate theirs, lol...

Next came writing their letters to Santa Claus, and yes, I know we were a lot behind schedule thank you very much, lol

While we did the letters, Daddy hung the stockings in the living room, and yes again, I do know we are late with that as well thank you very much, lol, lol.  The kids put their letters to Santa Claus in their stockings, and after that I had to cover the stockings with a sheet so each kid could put their gift in their siblings stocking...

Next the kids put their gifts for mommy and daddy that they were able to "shop" for at one of the wonderful USO events...

For the first time, our family sat down and read/had read to The Night before Christmas...

The kids were all tucked and heaters were turned on in their rooms, time for the fun to start....
we took out the gifts that we got to "shop" for at the USO.  It was such a fun experience ;)

What came next was just no where to be seen in advance, lol, hubs (yes i call him hubs, not husb, lol) were wrapping presents until 730am; yes i said it, 730am!!! lol  it wasnt that they were so many or anything like that, lol, we just had to keep stopping because kids kept comming in the living room, and we didnt have tape, so we were using hot glue gun, and school paste, lol, santa was probably laughing at me so hard that i know what will be in my stocking next year, lol.
We finished and ran to bed, so i guess we fell asleep around 8am on Christmas day, lol

hello my wonderful blog-family!

I just wanted to wish everyone a great 9hristmas eve night.

Its 6pm and I am running around trying to catch whatever stores I can catch open to start my christmas shopping, lol

Funny thing is for the last 2 weeks I would scream at hubs about how this year I WASN'T going to do that, since for the last 4 years we have done the running to catch them open game lol

My demands bit me on the butt because here I am on christmas eve doing it again. My poor kids are going to grow up thinking this is a family tradition, hahaha.

Regardless of what you celebrate, may you have a wonderful night,
Hugs always,
Lily

Thankful Thursday.... The USO

My first Thankful Thursday post goes out to The USO. I am so Thankful to them for all they do.

The USO is an organization that is there for our Military and families.
They have branches all over the world, They do events for our Soldier's overseas, and events for Military Families as well.

"While times have changed, the USO mission has remained the same: to boost the morale of service members and serve as the link between them and the American people. Today the USO delivers its programs and services to 1.4 million active duty service members and 1.2 million National Guard and Reserves as well as their families at more than 130 centers located worldwide."

As a Military Family of 8, we have turned to The USO for many events they host.

The USO is such an amazing organization, they host so many events for the families, and always do it with every member of their staff smiling.

Tuesday Dinners
Since our family runs on one income, feeding 8 people does not come cheap, we are very thankful to The USO and all of their volunteers and donations that make the Tuesday Dinners happen.
The dinners are given by volunteers or The USO staff, they fix up the upstairs dinning room and serve wonderful meals. The staff is always so attentive, and they will not even let me throw out my own plate. Those dinners have helped get us through some hard weeks, just by saving money on one meal for all of us. Our children love attending Tuesday dinners, its a fun way to eat out, and we can completely afford it.

Santa's Secret shop is an Awesome event!
There is a wonderful Holiday meal served for the entire family, and downstairs the children get to see Santa and have a picture taken. Is that not cool enough? Santa has a gift for every child as well! The best part, especially for families on limited incomes, is that the children get to all go to a "secret" store, where they each shop for a gift for each parent, they get it wrapped by wonderful volunteers and the most important thing, is that they get to feel so good about themselves for it!! Our children got to attend the Santa store event this year, and it was so wonderful! The turkey dinner was awesome! the fact that the kids got to see Santa and get a gift for themselves was so much fun, and to see the excitement of being able to shop for us was even better. They could not wait to tell us what they got us, and since then it's been an everyday thing to try to get them not to tell us ;)

For Halloween and throughout the year when available, there are always bowls of candy in the lobby for our Service Members to treat themselves.  Our children got to attend the Halloween event, and they got so much candy, that they still have some in December. We got a great dinner, and all the kids went trick or treating downstairs to each staff and volunteer. They were so excited!!!

When my husband was deployed to Iraq, he went to a couple of USO's that were in the Airports. There he was welcomed with nice staff and given little goodie bags, candies, and cookies, and even toiletries to freshen up. He said it made him feel like someone cared in a land of travelers.

All of their staff is always willing to help, and please. There is one person in particular that I Love, her name is Sara.

She is always seen rushing from place to place trying to please everyone. She has always been there even when I needed someone to cry or whine too. I am so thankful to be able to know such a giving person.

Needless to say, We are very grateful for all that The USO does as an organization. Many Soldier's that are away from home, make this their home, and families like ours make it our dinning room ;)

If you know any Military Personnel, please thank them for their service, and mention The USO to them, you would be surprised how many people rush through life without benefiting from the programs available. If you would like to volunteer or make a donation, or learn more about the USO, This is the link to the Downtown San Diego, Ca branch .

Thank you to all the Volunteers and staff that make The USO what it is to families like mine!

My new decision about being Thankful...

Something i have been wanting to share and bring awarness too.

Many of you have heard of The USO through commercials, i have learned that there are some people that have heard of The USO, but don't know much about it. There is another organization that is close to my heart, and that is Soldier's Angels. As with the USO, not many people know of Soldier's Angels.

well I have decided that in the spirit of me being thankful for the things and people in my life, i am also going to start a Thankful Thursday post.

Yes, I will blog about what I am thankful for, and ask my friends from Blogland to tell me what they are thankful for as well, BUT...

I am also going to show you why I am so Thankful to certain Organizations and certain people that have affected my life in one way or another.

There are so many men and Women who are Heroes in our daily lives, and we never even know about them. Not just because my husband is in the military, but all my life I have been raised to be very appreciative of The Military, of our Vets, and of all people and organizations that make this world a better place.

Today, thanks to Shannon, the writer of The Mommy Files , i have been inspired to start my Thankful Thursday posts.

Thank you Shannon for the secret Inspiration ;)

by the way, yes i am a bit coo-coo lol

its dec 22nd, and i have not done Christmas shopping yet :?

ok so iguess by the time this hits blogland it will be the 23rd wich even sounds worst.

i was finally able to go to the store today for 1 1/2 hours and i was just trying so hard not to have anxiety attacks, that i couldnt enjoy myself....

i was able to buy one thing for 4 kids.

i stink at this, a lot has to do with the fact that 2 days ago i went to try to get groceries and i was waiting for a parking spot and this man was honking and screaming and cussing at me to move because he wanted to go by. this was a very skinny lane by the way, so no one can move.

i finally got into the parking spot and he got off of his car and came to mine and screamed and cussed and told me to get out so he can teach me a lesson!

good thing tha t for the first tme in 2 months, i decided to go to the store without the kids, but i sat in my seat and cried for about 3 minutes, i was just so scared!!!!

yikes, that means i only have tomorrow to do what i have to do, on top of not having enough spirit in me for the season, i have not had the energy and time to do the Christmas projects i told the kids we would do, i have to go make a cake for my brothers birthday that is on christmas eve.

long story later, but this is for abrother that i have not talked with in 3 months and the father of my lil niece. its as a faveor to his girlfriend that i am making the cake.

God grant me the strength to make the cake with no diurettics!!!! lol lol lol

ummmm im stumped :/

dont know what to put as a headline, dont even know what to write about.

it was just a weird day today.

i posted yesterday (on a blog i deleted) that i have been a lil down on the subject of an angel baby.

so because of that, i have been missing out on my new niece's life. i say to hubby and to myself that i am relieved that they have not been around in a couple of months because its very hard for me to be around the baby, especially after she leaves, but at the same time, i feel horrible because i do love her and want to be the best auntie ever!! not to mention they asked me to be her godmother.

so yesterday i posted that i am happy she has not been here so i can move on, and it seems God wanted to remind me that it's not about me!!!
lol, i love his sense of humor...

my niece and her mommy came to the house today, unannounced.

uummmm i saw the car pull up to the drive way and i swear i tried to run n lock the door and was going to tackle the kids into the room and make them stay quiet, lol
yes, i sound horrible, possibly the worst godmother on the land, i just was not feeling good today so i didnt want to set myself up for more sadness.

she caught me and indeed screamed from her car that she had seen me so i better not lock my door!
ok fine, i tried.

they came over and immidiately she handed the baby to me. told me today was the babys 4 month birthday. want to know how horrible i am!?!!?
i do not know her name yet! its not that i havent asked, or heard it a million times, i guess its hjust part of my self protecting mechanism to not get attached.
yes i do feel bad.

she said they were staying for 15 minutes because i told her hubby was on his way home so we can get my meds, he never made it home in 15 mins and she stayed for 4 hours.
4 hours that she decided to spend with my kids cleaning my house because she said she needed a break from her baby.
so she picked me to hold her the whole time.

yes i loved it, i love the smell and the softness of the baby. i was trying hard not to LOVE it. hubby came home and saw the baby and smiled and said "oh gawd" i knew what he meant...

eventually i would cry to him sometime during the day that i wanted a baby. he would then argue the reasons why we shouldnt and i would cry why we should...

my niece n mommy left and not even 15 minutes later, without even noticing it, i had started the conversation with him. it ended in me crying over never having a real pregnancy and delivery and ended with him telling me if i want a baby i can go get pregnant somewhere else.

ughhhhh the pillow looked so good a s a tool for smothering him!!!!!!

i do understand his reasons though, with the last 4 they were so premature they had so many close calls, then with the last 3, my uterus ruptured, docs were amazed we made it through, so they HAD to tie my tubes because next time i wouldnt make it through.
at this point in the conversation i honestly dont care about his reasons, the only reasons i care about are mine. i know, its selfish, i should and AM thankful for the kids i do have, but with all the pregnancies being so close to death basically, i never knew what its like to be pregnant o r to deliver a baby, and i guess thats whats wrong, i am sorry for sounding like such an ungreatful snot, but something feels like its missing in my body and i cant figure it out, on top of that is my many miscarriages, i think i am just going through something very weird mentally or emotionally, i cant figure it out, but im sure God will remind me of it, soon i hope ;)

Welcome ICLW sisters ;)

hi, my name is lily. sounds weird cause im called everything else exept my name most of the time, lol.
mommy, hun, mrs. ashley, Izeaah's mom, Will's wife, and other not so nice names, lol lol

i am 34 and a mommy of 6. been married for 10 years and hubby is in the military.

i have a 12 year old with adhd, but who takes my full 1000% attention is our 6 year old. he is currently being tested to see what spectrum of the autism scale he falls into, so far he has been diagnosed with adhd, childrens bipolar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder. daily calls from the principal, teacher and the afterschool program, and daily sobbing moments secretly in the bathroom are my daily routines, lol.

problems with ubby, and military life, my rehumatoid arthritis, severe depression and bipolar disorder, all make for a flavorfull cake, lol

i started this blog in 2007, started again to keep up with it, i love to blog, and love to leave comments. i dont have a grown up and social life since my kids consume my life, so blogland is my escape, lol.

our children 16, 12, 9, 7, 6, 4, this last month has been very hard for me in one more aspect, i have had 6 miscarriages. my last loss has hit me the hardest and i cant seem to be able to have closure, the story will be a later post as to why, but i had an angel baby at 22 weeks, and i just am struggling so much with that particular loss more than the others.
i have had many problems with my pregnancies, my last 4 were premature born between 24 and 32 weeks, and my uterus ruptured with the last 2. i guess because my 24 week made it through might be a reason why my angel of 22 weeks is so close to me.

well i didnt mean to bring you down, just giving a scoop about my whole life ;)

so pull up a chair if you do choose to follow me cause it's an adventorous ride with our family ;)

enjoy some of my virtual triple chocolate chip brownies ;)

i am thankful!

i just wanted to let the world know, lol.

i may not have a lot of things, and be overwhelmed with bad ones most of the time, but i am thankful.

i am thankful for what i do have.

i am thankful for my husband who has pushed the family through when i havent been able too, i am thankful for my children, as crazy as they drive me at times, i am so thankful for them

4 of them being born between 24 and 30 weeks of pregnancy, they are little miracles in itself, but just for being here and letting me know they love me no matter what, i am so thankful.

i am so thankful for the people God has brought into my life, so thankful for the positive and love they give me.

thank you!

crazy times making costumes

so this is my 4pm to 1am craft run. note that this is the first time i ever sewed in my life, lol, so my fingers were not that fast, lol.

this was the garland i bought.

then i de-flowered it lol.

then i had to sew the garland to the belt

yay i finished sweing the belt

then i started gluing a million flowers at a time, lol

look at my wonderful sewing pattern, lol lol

next step was making the head pieces

done and starting on the coconut bras

next came making the garland necklaces

after so many "owww's!!' and "omgg!!!!!!!!!' lol i finished making 2 of everything. at 1am i finally finished and went straight to bed.

it was so worth it when i saw the finished product

when is too much, too much?

(a post from my other blog)

i am dealing with my depression, that lately has become very bad.
this week i have been busy with the girls costumes for their dance performance, but have been dealing so much with me.

i just have not been able to get myself up and at it. i cry out of no where, and i just am so down, yet i try to keep myself up for the kids.

as i have stated before, my 6 yr old is going through a lot of testing to have a full diagnosis. he has b een diagnosed with ADHD and childrens bipolar disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder, its been so incredibly hard on me dealing with that.

it wears me out so much, emotionally, and mentally, and physically.
a few days ago, the ymca after school program called me and told me that he is not going to be able to be in the program anymore because he is too much for them to handle.

calls from the principal, teacher, and now the ymca staff is so hard on me mentally.

THE WORST yet.....

today the principal called me and said something happened and I needed to go to her office.
i got to the office and sat down.
after talking with her and my son, i got the whole story.
it seems, he got upset that his behavior card got changed colors, so he turned aroung and told one kid "if you dont stop laughing at me i am going to cut you with a knife, i would make you bleed and make it look like a bloody acident"

what?!?!?!?!? omg!!!! i was hurt, upset, embarassed and everything else.

after speaking with him, he said he heard that from "the cat in the hat movie"
i am not sure, because i havent watched the movie, but even so it was so wrong.
they sent him home, and have banned him from recess for the rest of 2009 (a week)

i just dont know what to do anymorre!!!!

i am tired, worn out, and just sick of it. i made him an emergency appointment for tomorrow, at child phsyciatrist, and see whats gonna happen.

i hate crowds!!!

i HAd to leave my house yesterday to get food and things i needed to finish the girls costumes for their dance recitals, i hated it.

i just dont have anymore what it takes to be out right now, i was trying so hard to not have an anxiety atttack in the middle of walmart.

on a better n ote, today i finally got everything i need and for the first time in my life i am about to sew, lol.

i have to sew the garland to a belt and a bunch of other things, lol, my daughters are in a hawaiian/polynesian dance class and on Weds. they are having their Christmas show.

i will definetly post pictures of the costumes comming along, lol, or comming undone, lol.

her button is on my blog, the thing is to post a question and link it to her page, so we can all meet more bloggers. sounds fun so im trying it...

my first aloha friday question, since its raining here today...

what do you and your family do on rainy weekends or snow?

we mainly stay home and watch movies and it gets pretty boring, lol, so im looking for ideas

my manic tuesday

seems i had one of those days, this is a bit from my blog about depression on what happened yesterday link is here,

i found my lost purse...

oh, and i seem to have found my lost purse!!!

thats what the dryer decided to pay me back with,
it melted my purse :(
lol

and a peek at what my laundry station looked like at 5pm

the aftermath........

this morning as the kids went off to school, i took these pictures while i was outside...

our neighbors fence fell over so he put up a board,,,

the man across the street, was not so lucky...

that's his whole side fence on the floor.

our backyard seemed to have more shingles than the roof did,

even inside the pool and on and over the deck...

one of the 2 worst parts was the boys window...

yes, the shingle came down and broke the window,

the scariest part was that it was while the boys were in there sleeping.
the baby's bed is right next to that window too.
good thing it was nothing more than a scare.

this is what the roof looked like from my short reach, lol...

and as i look over the canyon into the city, it looks so beautiful that you have to have been here to know what a crazy day it was yesterday....
